You want to bring your website to the first page of Google, Bing, and Yahoo but do not know how. There are several factors that search engines consider when ranking a website for a set amount of keywords. One of the most significant factors search engines considers how many backlinks does your website have and how high of quality are those backlinks.

Backlinks – Are links to another more popular/credible website that link back to your website. These links could be hyperlinks left to words and images or regular links. An example, let us say you have an up and coming pharmacy store in Sacramento named Bob’s Drug Store. If someone related to your industry with a more popular online presence such as Sutter Health creates a blog post about your business and links your business’s website on that same blog post, then search engine crawler bots will recognize this within two weeks and raise your website’s ranking.

But how do I determine which websites will get me an improvement on my rank? Search engines such as Google assign websites with a PR Rank. This is essentially how important and legitimate your website is according to search engines. In other words, PR Rank is how relevant your website is to everyday consumers or businesses searching the selected keywords of your industry.

How should I build backlinks for my website? All search engines look for organic backlinks. What this means is that you cannot hire someone to spam 1,000 backlinks in 24 hours and expect to get placed on the first page of Google. If it were 2004, then you could get away with this tactic, but today there are a ton of compliance rules you must follow to get ranked on the first page. Your backlinks must be handwritten, organically spread apart regarding time posted. So instead of trying to create a thousand backlinks in a day, you should make one very high-quality backlink on a highly reputable website that is relevant to your business a couple of times a week. Getting access to highly reliable websites is the tricky part. Most websites will require a fee to place your link on their website or create a guest blog post.
