How old is your website? A few weeks? Then your probably good and can leave this article. A few months? Well, you might want to stay and read this article as WordPress is continuously updating its software. If you answered a few years and you have not had your website maintained since its birth, then you may be in trouble. What kind of trouble might you ask? Open to cybersecurity risks, enormous slowdowns for your user’s end, and most dreaded bugs, lag glitches, and broken links.
You must take the time every month to update your website and its plugins for the sake of your website’s overall health. Ignoring to do so will increase your bounce rate (people leaving your website before 8 seconds pass), affects your search engine rank negatively, and will make your business look outdated to potential clients/customers. Also, with an evolving business, you must continuously update your website to reflect those changes. If you want your website to bring in new business, you must continually update it with new content. New content that reflects the ever-changing business model, products, or services of your business. Also offering digital media such as video, graphics, and photos helps a ton in keeping your audience engaged.
A powerful dynamic website will attract more attention versus a static website because it is more engaging. The main secret to having a successful website is finding ways to keep your visitor engaged the whole time they surf your website. Spending 8 or more hours a week on your company’s website; creating relevant blog posts, eye-catching promotions, and other newly written content is a great and easy way to do this.
All in all, do not let your website sit there and do nothing because your website could be bringing in a lot more fresh leads and sales if it were active.
